Vintage silver gelatin print (6 ¾" x 8 ¾") of the great one-time Surrealist poet and member of the French resistance, taken quite early in his career, at around the time when he published his first major collection of verse, Le marteau sans maitre. Signed "Man Ray 1933" in the lower right hand corner. Stamp from the photographer's famous Montparnasse studio on verso, "Man Ray 31bis rue Campagne-Premiere, Paris -- 14e." A tiny pinhole on top of print, some inoffensive fingerprints to surface, otherwise a lovely photograph, and a document of the first importance.
