Chukovsky to the Departmeny of Copyrights asking them to sent payments from now on to Moscow, not Leningrad. Chukovsky was an eminent man of letters in the distinctive Russian mode: he was an important translator, a theoretician of translation, a literary critic and a particularly distinguished author of children’s literature; and he was an autodidact. Chukovsky is, along with Marshak, one of the two most important writers of books for children in modern Russian history, and indeed, he is the pre-eminent figure in the field. Very good.
