ACKER, Kathy. Four-Page Holograph Manuscript, Entitled "Opinion." 1983. Four quarto sheets. Holograph manuscript of an approximately 950-word piece entitled "Opinion," which Acker has submitted for publication in a literary magazine. A work of fiction which begins innocently enough (for Acker), "For the last 27 years of my life the people I met behaved to me as if I am a lunatic. Therefore I’m a lunatic. I'm ill." Surprisingly, it elaborates its thesis in a rather touching way before veering into the depths of twisted sexual violence that characterize the Kathy Acker we know and love. Signed and dated by Acker in 1983. The manuscript is accompanied by a brief cover letter, addressed to Malcolm Imrie in London.
